Review: Horde (Razorland #3) by Ann Aguirre

5 stars

Been waiting ages for this one to come out and I was not disappointed.
This was by far the best in the trilogy. Deuce has grown so much from the girl we met in Enclave. She is  stronger as well as more loving. She cares about more than how good people are at fighting.
Deuce is not the only character who has grown a lot since Enclave.

There were sad parts and happy parts. Characters I grew to love didn't make it to the end but there was an appearance of some old characters Deuce never thought she would see again (don't see this as a spoiler since we all knew it would happen after reading  Endurance)

Sad to see the end of this trilogy but look forward to reading Ann Aguirre's other books

Review: Omens (Cainsville #1) by Kelley Armstrong

6 Stars

I have loved every book by Kelley Armstrong so far and Omens is no different.
Many people have gave this book a low star rating and bad review just because it wasn't Paranormal like her Otherworld books but neither were her Nadia books and I loved them so that didn't put me off reading.
I love Kelley's writing style she can suck you in at the first sentence of her books regardless of the Genre.

Omens was a great start to the Cainsville series and I really can't wait for book 2.
Olivia is strong and believable just like all of Kelley's other Characters. The story pulls you right into the pages and makes you feel like your living through everything with Olivia. The ending leaves you wanting more and I now wish I had waited until all the books were out before reading but how could I resist a new Kelley Armstrong book.

Love Me by Jillian Dodd

Received  my first KC paperback and its SIGNED :)
THANK YOU Jillian Dodd for picking me as one of the winners.
Now I just need all the others including the special 3 books in one copy.

If you haven't read any of the Keatyn Chronicles books by Jillian Dodd then start they are seriously addictive plus book one Stalk Me is FREE on Kindle and the others are all really cheap.

Review: Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin

3 Stars

Received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I requested this because I LOVE weres.
This was ok but a little to unrealistic. I didn't like Dastien or Tessa at all. Tessa was far to much of a whiner. That girl really can moan about everything except the things she should moan about (like the deadly bites she likes to keep quiet about or the possible traitor) and it really got on my nerves. luckily the other characters made up for them.
I didn't get why the locals kept quiet about the werewolves. They don't like them and were horrible to Tessa after she was bitten so why not tell the world about the nasty weres?
The magic seemed interesting but there was only a little. Would have liked to have seen more of it.
This story could have been much better and looked so interesting but was such a let down.
I don't know if i'll read any others in this series or not.

Review: Poor Little Dead Girls by Lizzie Friend

4 Stars
Received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was an enjoyable read. Sadie is happy to get a scholarship to her mothers old school but when she is kidnapped by and initiated into a secret society she realizes that it wasn't her amazing lacrosse skills that got her into the school but something to do with her dead mothers past.
I liked this book and would love to read more about what happens to Sadie in collage and really hope this story continues since I don't think Sadie would have gotten away so easily.

Review: Gemini Falling by Eleanor Wood

2 Stars

Received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When I requested this title I didn't realize it was a short story in companion to another book I haven't read yet.
I didn't enjoy this story much and thought it was a little boring. It started to get good and then ended. It didn't make much sense and I didn't feel anything for the characters. When I opened the goodreads page for this book I noticed that this was a short in companion to Gemini Rising and I think I will read that since it sounds interesting. I think if I read the other book I will understand this one much better.
If you haven't read the other book I wouldn't read this but if you have you may enjoy it.

Review: Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth

No Star Rating Yet

Spoiler Free Review

I don't want to give anything away so this will be a short review.

Allegiant is the third ans last book in the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth.

I finished reading a few days ago and needed time to think before reviewing but i'm still not sure how to rate this book it's either 0 or 6 stars no where in between.

Veronica Roth really is one of the most talented YA writers out there and has now made my top 3  along with Jillian Dodd and Kelley Armstrong. before this book she was definitely in the top 10. Now you all must be thinking why didn't I just rate it 6 stars if it has raised her to top 3 but if you read it you will know.
It is the Best and the Worst book I have read this year I have only ever read one other book that made me feel this way and I won't tell you what one because it may just give away the reason why and that would spoil it for you.

so on to the actual review.

I have waited for more than a year for this book and I'm not sure what to think. It wasn't as good as Divergent or even Insurgent. The story was slower paced and not as action packed as the others and I found it dragging on a little I had no problem putting it down after the first few chapters since nothing much happened but it does pick up latter in the story and it is good.
At first I wasn't so sure of the changing POV but I eventually found myself looking forward to the switch.

There are a lot of spoilers for this book online and I would advise not reading them. I'm so glad I didn't. and if you have read the spoilers and they have put you off reading please give this book a try It's not as bad as it seems. It takes an amazing author to bring out so much emotion through a book and Veronica has done amazing. I will definitely be reading anything she writes in the future.

If anyone comments please do not spoil the book for those who haven't read it yet.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: Book Review

The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2)Genre: YA Paranormal Fantasy
Publication Date: September 17th 2013
Series: The Raven Cycle #2 (Book 1)
Rating: 5/5 stars
Source: Bought
The second installment in the all-new series from the masterful, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater!
Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after... (via goodreads)

My Thoughts: After reading the Prologue (only 3 pages long), I was hooked. If you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for? Even though I didn’t enjoy Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver series, this series is totally amazing. The Raven Boys was considered “Gansey’s” book and so when I heard that the Dream Thieves was Ronan’s book (he will forever be my favourite character), I couldn’t wait to read this book.

The characters in this book will continue to amaze me. Ronan is still the troubled misunderstood guy we all know and love but in this book, we get to learn more about his past and the secrets that occupy his handsome bald head. In the Raven Boys, readers all feel really bad for Adam (the poor friend in a gang of rich guys) but in this book, I started to hate him. I know that he’s always wanted to leave Henrietta and become rich but this book, the only words that describe him are “money-hungry”. Adam’s character development really disappointed even though he does slightly redeem himself near the end of the book. Noah was barely even in this book (as you can see, he’s not even in the synopsis) and that made me really disappointed.I swear the only time Noah appeared in this book was to piss me off. I don’t want to give any spoilers but seriously him and Blue do not work as friends. The bromance between Noah and Ronan seemed like it had so much potential! Gansey was still as put-together and cute as ever (nothing else about him really changed). Blue was still a nice character but I did feel like punching her in the face at one point. We are also introduced to some new characters in this book. Kavisnky is a very bad and evil character but it was really interesting to read about him. The Gray Man, a hit man and potential love interest of Blue’s mother, was just amazing. I always hate the introduction of new characters but this character was just amazing.

The romance in this book was just amazing. The Blue and Gansey relation ship can only be described using this gif:
Their relationship sort of kinda blooms but they never even talk about it so it kinda frustrates me. Other than that, the romance was SO cute! I just want to hug Gansey and Blue and tell them to kiss already (even if it means Gansey’s death…)

The actual plot and Glendower stuff really developed in this book and it was so interesting to read about. My favourites part of the book would have to be the epilogue and prologues! The ending totally left me hanging and I can’t wait to read the next book. Overall, this book does not have “second book syndrome” but I did get very annoyed at the main characters at certain points in the book. The wait for the next book will be horrible but hopefully, totally worth it. If you haven’t read this series, what are you waiting for?
